Maggies Baggies

Hi!

There's not a whole lot to say except I'm hooked on soft sculpture. It all started when I bought elinor peace bailey's Santa on a Chicken. After that chicken, I couldn't stop buying patterns and making them.

I was decorating with these dolls and there came a Thanksgiving when I had made every turkey pattern I could find. Desparate for a new turkey (like I didn't have enough), I designed my own. And surprisingly it worked. I was totally amazed. And it was fun - really fun.

So I kept doing it. Turns out I like to design mostly animals and other creatures. Humans are not my forte. They never look really right to me. and I don't find them as interesting as animals. So now I stick to animals. I do not do cute and cuddly. I do attitude. Many of the critters have stories with them. Don't know why, they just come about.

The soft sculptures were made for pure enjoyment -- there is no other reason for them.

I've recently started playing with Art Quilts and have found a wonderful group of people who are into the same thing. So, you will probably see more and more art quilts on this site too.
